Stories From the Community – Microdosing
Last month we asked our community how microdosing mushrooms had impacted their lives, and they responded by telling us stories of healing and hope. We wanted to take a step back to share some of these stories now, because of how powerful they are. In addition to sharing your experiences with us, you can also share them on microdose.me, a crowdsourced microdosing study that tracks the experiences of individual users. This study will help provide researchers more information about the possibilities of microdosing, and could play a role in shaping its future as a form of treatment.

In 2018 I was diagnosed with PTSD, cPTSD, BPD, binge eating disorder, and a panic disorder. I used to heavily rely on opiates. Since about 15-16 years old. Self harmed a lot, was in a lot of abusive relationships where I was coerced, had my money taken from me, dealt with threats of abandonment, physical and other emotional abuse. A lot of sexual abuse too. The course my life was taking wasn’t good. At 19 I ended up in an inpatient facility and I opened up to a friend who guided me on my first trip. It was night and day. I got the help I needed after that. Thru microdosing and a few full doses I slowly worked on my negative thought patterns. My shame, my trauma no longer use, I don’t self harm. I’m 21 now and since being reevaluated, I still have traits, but I’m no longer diagnosed as any of those labels. It’s not perfect now, but I can manage and am independent now. my quality of life has exponentially improved and I can actually pursue my passions now.
Mushrooms are a godsend. I spent over half a decade never seeing any improvements bc I couldn’t even open up and acknowledge I needed help. Psilocybin/psilocin changed that for me
Our research collaborations have found benefits of psilocybin for treatment resistant depression and smoking addiction. We’ve also found that #microdosing other closely related #psychedelics like #LSD can increase levels of neural growth factors in the blood, with potential implications for the treatment of neurodegenerative disease, inflammation and brain trauma.
Microdosing literally saved my life. I was ready to end it. Literally within the week. Regular microdoses pulled me out of that pit of despair and overthinking. It’s not permanent and I know that. But the benefits of a maintenance medication that I only need to take once every month is astounding.
Totally changed life up in the best way, putting an end to so many unhealthy patterns both physically and mentally
